The Resource
This resource aims to expand your student’s vocabulary when describing continuity and change over time. The resource has been designed for AQA A level students but it can be used by any student that is studying a breadth unit at both A level and GCSE. Great for those writing essays on for example 1C Tudors.
How to use
Students are given a lexicon log of words that describe continuity and change. In the first exercise, they should match the words to where they think it belongs on the thermometer. Words that denote the most change will be towards one end and those that suggest no change on the opposite side. There are further tasks to think of other words or phrases and an extension task to write a sentence using one of the words or phrases. You may wish to utilise dictionaries alongside the task to enhance the student understanding of the words and phrases.
